From the Vault: Vintage Trends Re-Emerging
Why the best trends are the ones that come back around. From baguette bags to slip dresses, here’s how vintage favorites are stealing the spotlight—again.
My feed and inbox are full of new-season goodness, but I’m slowing down and pausing before making a purchase.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been scrolling through your feed and seeing pieces that make you think, "Wait, didn’t I see that exact thing in my mom’s closet?" Spoiler alert: My mom unfortunately did not have the same style as Zendaya in the 90s…but the same trends we have seen again and again are here to stay.
Baguette bags? Back and better. Silk slip dresses? A staple. Low-rise jeans? Okay, I’m not there yet, but kudos to those of you brave enough to embrace them again. These are the pieces we thought we’d never see—or wear—again, and yet here they are.
Shopping vintage can be daunting, but here are four straightforward evergreen trends to get you going, and ensure you look, but more importantly feel, good. Enjoy!
Baguette Bags
Picture this: you’re striding into a coffee shop, tiny shoulder bag tucked under your arm, latte in hand. That’s the baguette bag magic. My go-to is a Fendi Baguette I found secondhand. It’s scuffed just enough to look cool without looking trashed. Pair it with literally anything—leggings, a blazer, or even that “just rolled out of bed” look—and it still works.

If you haven’t yet hunted down a pair of wide-leg jeans or that perfect vintage denim jacket, what are you waiting for? The other day, I spotted a patched denim midi skirt—like the ones that were EVERYWHERE in the early 2000s—and couldn’t resist snagging it. Paired with a slouchy sweater and boots, it’s the perfect nod to nostalgia without feeling like I’m trying too hard.

Slip Dresses
I’ll admit it: I’ve worn the same black silk slip dress to three events in one month. With heels, it’s effortlessly chic. With boots and a turtleneck layered underneath, it’s giving "downtown cool girl.” Vintage slip dresses are so versatile that once you have one, you’ll wonder how you survived without it.

If you’re ready to dive into the vintage vortex, here’s my advice: Start small. Find a killer trench coat—Burberry, if you can swing it—or a timeless leather bag. These pieces hold their value and make every outfit feel effortlessly elevated. And if you’re nervous about where to start, platforms like Phia have your back, showing you what’s worth it and helping you snag it secondhand if it’s not.
At the end of the day, fashion is supposed to be fun. So throw on that vintage silk scarf, grab your statement bag, and strut like it’s 1995.
